One of the most trusted tattoo studios in Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi — built on nearly two decades of tattooing, one custom tattoo and one honest conversation at a time.
Inkspace Tattoo Studio is one of the most trusted tattoo studios in Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi. Established in 2017 and built on nearly two decades of tattooing experience, Inkspace creates custom tattoos that combine artistic craftsmanship with meaningful storytelling — quietly known across Delhi for cover-ups, portraits, fine line, black & grey, realism and fully custom work.
The studio began, long before it had a name, in 2005 — when a first-year engineering student in Delhi watched an episode of Miami Ink and could not put it out of his mind. That student was Chetan Salhotra, today the founder and lead artist of Inkspace.
A year later, in 2006, Chetan sat down to give his first tattoo. He had no shortcut into the industry — no viral Instagram post, no famous mentor. What he had was a sketchbook that never left his side and the willingness to apprentice.
His early years were spent learning under Ankur Dhingra and Gurjeet Singh — two artists who taught him the fundamentals the way tattooing was meant to be learned: machine setup, needle theory, line weight, skin behaviour, sterilisation, and the humility of drawing the same design a hundred times before touching a client.
Somewhere along the way, engineering quietly became the backup plan. Tattooing became the plan.
By 2009, Chetan was managing the floor at Scorpio Tattoo Inn — running client consultations, custom design, long sessions on skin, and the daily discipline of keeping a working studio hygienic and honest.
In 2012, he was awarded Best Black & Grey Artist at the India International Tattoo Convention. It was not a marketing win — it was recognition from other artists, judged in front of them. That award still shapes the studio's approach to realism and black & grey work today.
The next chapter was Devilz Tattooz, where he served as Senior Artist — leading complex realism, portraits and cover-ups at one of Delhi's most visited studios. Those years taught him something he still repeats to every new artist he trains: speed is a by-product of technique, never a substitute for it.
By 2017, Chetan had spent more than a decade inside other people's studios. He had watched the same problems repeat: overbooked artists, walk-ins pushed onto whoever was free, generic flash traced onto skin, quick sessions that finished before the design was ever truly discussed.
Inkspace was founded to run the opposite way. Appointment-first. Consultation before design. One client per artist per day whenever possible. Original artwork instead of copied tattoos. A room where the client can actually think.
Hauz Khas Village became home for a reason. Tucked behind medieval stone gullies and the lake, it is Delhi's oldest creative neighbourhood — a quiet grid of designers, illustrators, independent labels, small galleries and homegrown businesses. It is the closest thing the city has to an artistic quarter, and it draws people who travel across Delhi NCR specifically to spend an afternoon here. A tattoo studio that puts the client, the drawing and the conversation first belongs in a place like this. Inkspace fits Hauz Khas the way a good tattoo fits the body: intentionally.
Since opening in 2017, Inkspace has tattooed thousands of clients across Delhi NCR and beyond — from a first small piece to complex multi-session cover-ups. The studio has stayed deliberately small so the work can stay deliberately good.
Our work sits primarily in cover-up tattoos, portrait tattoos, fine line, black & grey, realism, minimal, script, floral, geometric and fully custom contemporary tattoos — always designed for the client, never pulled from a catalogue. Every session is appointment-based, every station is single-use, and every client leaves with a full aftercare protocol and WhatsApp support through healing.
Over the years, Inkspace has quietly become a first stop for a very specific kind of client: someone who wants their tattoo to actually mean something. First-time clients researching carefully. Collectors bringing us complex cover-ups. Gen Z and young professionals from across Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida who chose us for the collaborative consultation, the custom artwork, the modern aesthetic and the transparency of the process, not the loudest advertising. That is the room we set out to build in 2017, and it is the room we protect today.
Consultation is not a formality. It is where the tattoo actually gets designed.
We do not reproduce another artist's work. If it exists on someone else's skin, it stays there.
You should walk in already knowing the artist, the design, the plan and the price. Nothing is decided under the machine.
One client per artist per day. Long sessions are respected, not rushed.
Autoclaved tools, single-use cartridges, medical-grade barriers — every session, no exceptions.
You leave with a healed tattoo and enough knowledge to care for every tattoo you get after us.
The milestones that shaped Inkspace — with plenty of blank pages ahead.
A television show introduced Chetan Salhotra — then an engineering student — to tattooing as a serious craft. The obsession started that year.
Chetan begins tattooing under Ankur Dhingra and Gurjeet Singh — learning line weight, machine setup, hygiene protocol, and the discipline of drawing every single day.
Steps up from apprentice to running a working studio floor — client consultations, bookings, custom design, long sessions on skin.
Awarded Best Black & Grey Artist at the India International Tattoo Convention — recognition from peers, not marketing.
Years spent leading complex realism, cover-up and portrait work at one of Delhi's largest studios — refining a signature approach to black & grey.
Opens Inkspace in Hauz Khas Village with one clear rule: appointment-first, one client at a time, custom artwork only.
Thousands of custom tattoos later, Inkspace is growing into one of India's most trusted tattoo brands — through education, aftercare, blogs and a small resident team.
Inkspace exists to make sure yours is created with honesty, craftsmanship and intention — one conversation, one drawing and one session at a time. Not the biggest tattoo studio in India. One of the most trusted in Hauz Khas Village, and we would like to keep it that way.
If that is the kind of studio you want to sit down in — the door is open.
