Pain, pricing, healing, design — the real things people ask before sitting down.
Inkspace Tattoo Studio is at 13-A, 1st Floor, Space Gully, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi 110016 — a quiet appointment-only studio in South Delhi, a short walk from Hauz Khas metro station and easy to reach from Gurugram and Noida.
The studio runs by appointment, typically 12:00–20:00 IST, Tuesday through Sunday. Walk-ins are subject to availability — WhatsApp us first so we can hold a chair for you.
WhatsApp is the fastest channel — we usually reply within a few hours during studio hours. You can also use the /contact form or DM us on Instagram; both route to the same person.
Every custom tattoo starts with a WhatsApp or in-studio consultation. We discuss reference, placement, size, healing and long-term wearability, then send a design brief and quote before booking a session. Nothing is tattooed the same day as the first consultation.
Yes — the initial consultation is free, whether on WhatsApp or in the studio. A refundable booking deposit is collected only once you confirm a session date.
Bring reference images, a rough placement idea, and any concerns about scars, moles or existing tattoos. You don't need a finished design — that's what the studio is for.
Small fine line or minimal tattoos take 45–90 minutes. Medium black & grey or realism pieces take 3–5 hours. Larger custom sleeves and back pieces are split across multiple sessions spaced roughly 4–6 weeks apart to protect line quality and pigment retention.
Pricing depends on size, detail, placement and session count. Small custom pieces typically start around ₹4,000; larger black & grey, realism or cover-up work is quoted by session after the consultation. We share a written quote before booking.
Yes. A refundable booking deposit (from ₹500 for small pieces, higher for larger work) is collected via the /book page. The deposit is adjusted against the final tattoo bill on the day of your session.
UPI, cards, net banking and cash. Online deposits go through our secure payment provider; the balance can be paid in the studio on the day of your session.
We specialise in fine line, realism, black & grey, cover-up, custom and minimal tattoos. Every piece is drawn from scratch for the client — we do not run flash walls or copy other artists' work.
Yes — fine line is a core speciality. Fine line reads best on flat, low-friction areas (forearm, calf, upper back). Fingers and hands are possible but may soften faster over time; we'll be honest about wearability at consultation.
Yes. We use professional, vegan-friendly pigments and plan colour work carefully for how it will heal on Indian skin tones. Ask at consultation which palette will hold best for your idea.
Keep the studio wrap on for the first 24 hours, then wash gently with fragrance-free soap, pat dry, and apply a very thin layer of the moisturiser we recommend 2–3 times a day. Avoid soaking, direct sun, gyms and swimming for the first 2 weeks. Full protocol lives on /aftercare.
The surface heals in about 2–3 weeks. The deeper skin layers settle over 4–6 weeks, and final tone stabilises around week 8. Follow the /aftercare protocol through the full window for best line quality and colour retention.
Spreading redness, hot swelling, thick yellow-green discharge, red streaking, or fever more than 48 hours after your session. If you see any of these, contact a doctor and WhatsApp the studio — we never diagnose over chat, but we'll help you get seen.
Sleep well, eat before you arrive, drink water, and avoid alcohol or blood thinners for 24 hours. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the placement. Follow the aftercare plan we send after your session for the best healing.
Most first-timers describe it as sharp but manageable — closer to a warm scratch than a sting. It's a sensation you settle into within the first 20 minutes.
Ribs, sternum, spine, ankles, feet and inner bicep tend to hurt more (thinner skin over bone or nerve). Outer arm, thigh, calf and outer forearm are usually easier. We plan placement with pain and healing in mind, not just aesthetics.
For longer or bonier placements, yes — we can recommend a specific numbing cream and application window. It doesn't affect the final result when used correctly.
Yes — cover-ups are one of our specialities. We plan the new design so the old ink disappears under considered linework and value. Some heavily saturated tattoos need 2–4 laser sessions first; we tell you honestly at consultation whether a direct cover-up is possible.
Usually yes — a cover-up typically needs to be a little larger and darker than the original so the underlying lines vanish. The extra size is where design freedom comes from.
Only for heavily saturated or very dark tattoos. We refer to trusted laser clinics in Delhi and plan the cover-up around the fade schedule. Many cover-ups can be done without any laser at all.
Yes. Inkspace uses single-use sterile needles, hospital-grade barrier film on every surface a client touches, autoclaved reusable equipment and disposable ink caps. The studio has held the same medical-grade hygiene standard since 2017.
We use professional cartridge needles (single-use, sterile, opened in front of you) and vegan-friendly pigments from EU/US-certified manufacturers.
Chetan Salhotra is the founder and lead artist — fine line, realism, black & grey, cover-ups and custom work. Bruna Freespirit is our resident artist for fine line, blackwork and custom pieces. Full artist profiles live on /artists.
Yes — mention your preferred artist on WhatsApp or in the /book form. We'll match your idea with the artist whose style suits it best if you're unsure.
Inkspace is a tattoo-only studio. For piercings, we refer clients to a small list of trusted Delhi piercers who meet the same hygiene standard we work to — ask us on WhatsApp for a current recommendation.
18 and above with valid photo ID. 16–17 is possible only with a parent present in the studio and matching ID for both.
One free reschedule is included with 24+ hours' notice on WhatsApp. Same-day cancellations or no-shows forfeit the deposit — we hold your chair, so we're strict about this.
The deposit is refundable up to 48 hours before the session. Inside 48 hours, it becomes non-refundable but transferable to another date within 60 days.
No. We do not tattoo anyone visibly intoxicated — alcohol and blood thinners cause excessive bleeding, poor ink retention and unsafe healing. Please arrive sober and rested.
We reply on WhatsApp within 24 hours — usually faster. No bots, just the studio.
