Tattoo Studio in Hauz Khas Village — Inkspace, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi

Inkspace is a custom tattoo studio in Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi — built around fine line, realism, blackwork and cover-up tattooing. Every piece is drawn from scratch for the person wearing it.

Inside the studio

The studio sits on the first floor at Space Gully, Hauz Khas Village — a quiet, daylight-lit room above the street-level cafés. We run a single tattoo chair per session by design. No shop-floor crowd, no walk-by interruptions, no other client watching you get tattooed. Most consults happen on the sofa upstairs, usually with chai, before anyone sees the chair.

What you'll notice on a first visit:

  • One chair, one client at a time. When you're being tattooed, the room is yours.
  • Daylight + AC. Large window for stencil work in natural light; climate control for long sessions.
  • Separate prep and tattoo zones. Stencil drawing, ink layout and the actual tattooing happen in physically separate areas.
  • Sealed disposables in front of you. Needle cartridges, ink caps, razors, barrier film and grip covers are opened from sealed packaging at the start of your session — not before.
  • Healed-result portfolio on the wall. We display healed work, not just fresh photos, so you can see how line weight and shading settle after four to six weeks.

Tattoo styles offered

Inkspace is a custom studio first. Roughly 80% of what leaves the room is drawn for the client; the remaining 20% is small flash for walk-ins.

  • Fine line tattoos — single-needle and three-round-liner work for minimal symbols, single-word script, dates, botanical line work, and matching couple, sibling or memorial pieces. Sized conservatively for the placement so the line holds after healing.
  • Realism tattoos — black-and-grey portraits, animal portraits, single-object compositions (a watch, a rose, an eye) and colour realism on request. Most realism pieces run across two to four sessions.
  • Cover-up tattoos — Chetan's specialty. We assess every cover-up over WhatsApp first and give one of three honest answers: direct cover-up, cover-up after laser sessions, or full removal first.
  • Blackwork and Japanese — large-scale sleeves, back pieces and panel work where density and composition are the point.
  • Geometric, mandala and ornamental — built around symmetry; planned across multiple sessions for larger placements.
  • Script, lettering and minimal blackwork — Bruna's specialty for clean, legible script at small sizes.

If you're comparing pricing across styles before booking, the tattoo pricing page for Delhi breaks down minimum, hourly and per-session estimates by style.

Meet the artists

Two resident artists, both based full-time in Delhi.

Chetan Salhotra — founder, 20 years tattooing. Realism, black-and-grey portrait, cover-ups, large-scale Japanese, geometric, anime and floral. Heavy custom-drawing pieces — portraits, sleeves that have to read as one composition, cover-ups that have to swallow an existing tattoo — usually go to Chetan. He runs the consult, draws the stencil and tattoos the session himself.

Bruna Freespirit — resident, 8 years tattooing. Fine line, minimal blackwork, lettering and script. Most first tattoos at the studio go to Bruna; so do most fine-line couple and memorial pieces. Her line is consistent enough to hold tiny pieces without blowout.

Both artists answer their own WhatsApp consults. You can meet the artists here and browse healed work in the gallery before booking.

Hygiene and safety standards

Hygiene is the part of a tattoo studio that should be invisible because everything is sealed, single-use and disposed of properly. Here's what we do, end to end:

  • Single-use needle cartridges. Every cartridge is sterile, sealed and used on one client only. Opened in front of you at the start of the session.
  • Single-use ink caps and gloves. Ink is poured into disposable caps per session — never returned to the bottle. Gloves changed at every interruption (touching the camera, the door handle, your reference).
  • Barrier film on every contact surface. The machine, clip cord, work tray, armrest and tattoo lamp are wrapped in disposable barrier film. Stripped and binned immediately after the session.
  • Hospital-grade surface disinfectant. All contact surfaces wiped down with hospital-grade disinfectant between every client.
  • Biomedical sharps disposal. Used cartridges go straight into a sealed sharps container collected by a licensed biomedical waste contractor.
  • Skin prep protocol. The tattoo area is shaved with a new disposable razor, cleaned with green soap, dried, and stencilled — in that order, every time.
  • Aftercare you take home. Every client leaves with a sealed wrap, written aftercare instructions and our WhatsApp for any healing questions.

We don't tattoo clients under 18, clients who arrive intoxicated, or anyone we suspect has an active skin condition over the tattoo area. The honest version of safety in a tattoo studio is saying no when the answer should be no.

Walk-in tattoos in Hauz Khas

The studio is appointment-based but we hold walk-in slots on weekdays for small pieces.

  • Easiest windows: Tuesday to Friday, 12 to 4 PM. Saturday and Sunday are almost always pre-booked.
  • What we can tattoo same day: small fine line, single-word script, simple symbols, small flash from our binder. Usually under two hours.
  • What we can't tattoo same day: custom realism, cover-ups, anything that needs a stencil drawn from scratch. Those still need a consult window first.
  • How to confirm: WhatsApp +91 9711 361 010 before you walk over — we'll tell you if a chair is open.

If both artists are mid-session when you arrive, we'll give you a return time within the hour rather than ask you to wait.

Why clients visit Inkspace

A few specific reasons clients name when they leave a review:

  • One artist, start to finish. The person who consults you draws the stencil and tattoos you. No handover, no junior taking the easy parts.
  • Private first-floor room. Not a street-front studio. Daylight, AC, single chair, quiet.
  • Custom design over flash. ~80% of what leaves the studio is drawn for the client.
  • Healed-result transparency. We publish healed work alongside fresh photos so you can plan the size and detail honestly.
  • Single studio, single location. No chain, no franchise. The Hauz Khas Village room is the only Inkspace.
  • Same-day WhatsApp replies. Most consults get a reply within two hours during studio hours.

If you're adding a piercing the same visit, see the piercing services at Hauz Khas.
